Ellie May
Nevada Humane Society
Submitted by Chelsea Weekley: I helped save more lives by adopting this beautiful kitten. She is the light of my world, and I look forward to coming home to her every day. She is my little angel. She follows me everywhere around the house, even into the bathroom while I take a shower. She is so cute and loving. I am so lucky to have her!

August
Humane Society of Central Washington
Submitted by Joel Beath: We helped save more lives by adopting our newest family member, August (we call him "Auggie"). We've adopted a shelter dog before and we're happy to do it again. August has gotten use to his new surroundings and while the cat may think he's got the house to himself, August is doing what he can to be his best bud.

 Kyra
Canyon County Animal Shelter
Submitted by Erica Voss: I helped save more lives by adopting Kyra…Kyra sat in the shelter for several months while people passed her by due to her breed's bad reputation. I went to visit her every day for a week before bringing her home two days before having my baby girl. Kyra is wonderful with my daughter and one of the sweetest dogs I've ever known!

Kowankie (WINNER)
Animal Outreach of the Mother Lode
Submitted by James Scranton: I helped save more lives during the 2012 ASPCA $100K Challenge by adopting this pretty girl whom my girlfriend was fostering. As you can see, she is a spitfire. Her name is Kowankie (koala/monkie). She looks like a koala, but does a very good job of standing up like a monkey.

 Nike
Kern County Animal Control
Submitted by Vanessa Hestlow: My boyfriend and I have a huge heart for animals! On July 31, we were out doing some work around the area and decided to stop by the shelter. We heard about the (Challenge) event the following day. The event started at 2 but we started waiting in line at 11 just so we could rescue her. We rescued Nike purely out of love and couldn't be happier!

 Ace & Fey
Nevada Humane Society
Submitted by Sara Lee: I helped save more lives by adopting an adorable fox terrier. We named her Fey, and she is an energetic ball of crazy fun! The photo was taken on a hike for Ace's birthday. These two puppies are the best of friends—they do everything together. And they take care of each other the way a brother and sister should.
