Professor McGonagall

Denton Animal Shelter Foundation
Submitted by Shaina Sheaff: When I heard about the Challenge, I knew I had to help in any way I possibly could. Let me be clear: I didn't intend to fall in love. I'm a single mother and we already have one cat. But I saw this sweet girl, asked to hold her, and that was it. I knew she belonged with our little family.

Darwin, Hanna, Annabell, Lavender & Iris

Humane Society of Southern Arizona
Submitted by Andrea Mitchell: I helped save more lives during the $100K Challenge by fostering a litter of five kittens until they were old enough to be spayed/neutered. This is a wonderful group of kittens with two tabbies, a pastel calico, a pastel torti, and a blue tabby named Iris, who I adopted.

JoJo Bubbles

Humane Society of Southern Arizona
Submitted by Darcy Forrest: I helped save more lives during the 2012 ASPCA $100K Challenge by fostering 14 dogs, raising a litter of eight pups, and volunteering at HSSA in the sick unit. It's an amazing organization that I am proud to be a part of.

Jianna & Jiselle

Denton Animal Shelter Foundation
Submitted by Melissa Garcia: I helped a $100K Challenge shelter save more lives during the 2012 ASPCA $100K Challenge by promoting the event during kick-off weekend.

Newton

Humane Society of Southern Arizona
Submitted by Connie Carella: I helped save more lives by adopting a beautiful cat named Newton. My cat of 15 years died during my battle with cancer. I thought I would never adopt another cat. After reading about the Challenge, I decided to adopt again. I'm so glad I did. Newton is the light in my life. Thank you everyone for this Challenge—I have a new buddy and love him dearly already.

Meredith & The Boxers (WINNER)

Denton Animal Shelter Foundation
Submitted by Amy Cole: My 11-year-old daughter and I helped save more lives by volunteering at the Denton Animal Shelter Foundation. We exercised the dogs, participated in the "Give Them Love" program to socialize the dogs so that we are better able to match them with families. This shelter works very hard to find forever homes for all!

Maverick

BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions
Submitted by Cheryl Franzen: The time was finally right to add a dog to our family. Knowing we could only save one left a hole in our hearts, but that hole was quickly filled with the sweetest little puppy. It was love at first sight. Maverick has blossomed into an adorable, lovable, energetic, playful, smart family member who has brought so much love and joy into our lives.

Andy

BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions
Submitted by Rachel Betts: I helped a $100K Challenge shelter save more lives during the $100K Challenge by adopting Andy from the BARC Shelter in Houston, Texas. We love him!
