We need your help. Many of you already know that puppy mill dogs endure horrible lives of suffering and neglect. But because of a loophole in the Animal Welfare Act, puppy mills that sell puppies exclusively online operate without any federal regulation at all. Dogs are suffering, and it’s time we put an end to the hidden inhumane treatment.

Please Help!
Right now we have a chance to help close this loophole forever. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is considering a rule that would regulate online puppy sellers, and we're fighting hard to make sure it's effective. But we need your help today!

Please tell the USDA to start licensing and inspecting puppy mills that sell dogs online. We have a limited time to fight for this rule.

I am absolutely DISGUSTED that puppy mills have not already been stopped in the United States. Animals are living, breathing animals with the ability to feel love and pain. No dog should be used for reproduction and kept in a cage until it's thrown out for being to old. Dogs are the most loyal creatures on this planet, perhaps more loyal than humans. A dog is meant to be a friend to man kind and people just keep using and abuing them. Put yourself in their postition; they may not have a voice but they most certainly have feelings!

I have a bearded collie that was rescued from a puppy mill and she has some serious neurological issues. It starts with the individual who thinks breeding puppies in this way will bring in revenue. The people who buy from the puppy mills think they are getting a great deal, but they have no idea how much inbreeding is done. I am a proponent of adopting dogs, rather than continuing to breed them, so my thoughts are adopt. Any cruelty to an animal is unacceptable as they are looking to us for love, acceptance, caring. The thought of anyone harming an innocent animal makes me very angry, sad and disappointed. Every dog I've ever taken in to love has a different disposition, personality and it is apparent to me they are individuals just like we are. STOP THE CRUELTY!

I call our farm the dog dump resort. People think nothing of bringing these dogs out to this country road and just dumping them be they pups, adults or old age. We take in as many as we can, but there needs to be a moratorium on the ability of people to sell dogs that can procreate and just dumping them to be run over, shot, hunted by wolves or coyotes, and worse abused by humans. If you do not want little ones, spay oir neuter your pets. It is the most humane thing you can do.

This is so sad, to think of these poor little helpless animals being treated (actually mis-treated) in such horrific ways and conditions. So many of these babies never see daylight, feel the ground under their paws or even something so simple as a hug or luv! They are simplly "money machines" there for the purpose of making money! Most aren't even given medical treatment and are simply breed to death! These are loving, caring, feeling animals that want nothing more than to love and be loved. Don't you think it's about time we put the "human" back in "humanity"?

I join the ASPCA in urging the USDA to make sure all puppy mills are regulated, and that legitimate rescues and shelters are not inadvertently impacted. It is our duty to protect those that cannot protect themselves. This includes ALL living things. I have loved animals, especially dogs since I was 2 years old. I am now 54 and knowing how these dogs suffer in puppy mills just makes me ill. Americans protect everything from trees to our freedom. PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO PROTECT OUR DOGS. They have a right to live a free and loving life. This suffering must stop.

ASPCA, thank you for all the pain you endure rescuing these sweet babies from the pain they endured. I have a rescue Sheltie and we work hard with him every day. He his such a sweet boy and we love him so. Please, everyone get after officials from local to national. Laws have to be enforced! When my dad was in.a nursing home toward the end of his life, a lovely little Sheltie used to visit him every Saturday. She would RUN into his room and jump on his lap. Gracie, the female Sheltie, had a companion male Sheltie by the name of Bailey. I found out from their human companion that Gracie had been a puppy mill dog. When she was rescued, she did NOT know how to be a dog. She had lived in a cage her entire life! Bailey taught Gracie how to be a dog...and how fortunate for my dad he did. My dad loved those dogs...

Please put and end to puppy mills! It is cruel! These dogs suffer! I foster dogs and I have seen first hand what years of being in a small tiny cage can do to these poor helpless victims! For example, I have seen dogs rescued from puppy mills (just because the jerk running it could save bullets by letting the kind lady have them to bring them to our rescue!!!!!!) that did not walk, but crawl on their bellies until they realized what their legs were for! It is horrible, disgusting and it needs to be stopped!!!
