Who'll Be the ASPCA's 2013 Calendar Cover Model? Cast Your Vote!

We're putting our 2013 calendar together right now, and staffers and volunteers representing all 12 months of the year have been photographed with their furry friends. There's only one big decision left to make, and we’re leaving the answer up to you: Who should grace the calendar’s cover?

We've narrowed down the field to four contenders. Check out the photos that are in the running, read a little about their sweet four-legged subjects, and then cast your vote for our 2013 Cover Dog or Cat. The pet whose photo gets the most votes will have his or her face in homes all over America!

Buddy

Abandoned in Brooklyn, Buddy was rescued by an ASPCA Humane Law Enforcement Agent. Soon this irresistible Terrier found his forever home with another member of our Anti-Cruelty team.

Maow & Bruce

Cuddly siblings and BFFs Maow and Bruce were adopted from a tiny shelter in Rego Park, Queens. Maow is a dainty lady, while Bruce is an expert boxer.

Pooch & Schnogg

Zoom

Pooch survived a gunshot wound as a puppy and was adopted by a loving family that included big brother Schnogg. Now Pooch, the baby of the house, rules the roost.

Rocky

Named for his favorite playing position (sitting on his back legs and using his front paws), Rocky is a fun-loving feline who keeps a close eye on his younger sister Lucy.

You would like to see my Dixie (blue heeler x jack russell x ???) female mix, play-fighting with her cat companion, creamy orange female tabby Amore. Or see them sleeping together after the playtime. They're so sweet together.

I love to see pictures of Dogs and Cats too... My neighbor once had a dog and cat and they were the best of pals - ate together and slept together. I used to take care of them when my neighbor went out of town. I think dogs and cats are precious together.

I would definitely like to see dogs & cats together on the cover, but the 2 orange cats are just priceless, wish I could own one, but unfortunately I cant/.

i agree if dogs and cats are together it shows love not hate for each other and that is the real way animals should be raise as babies and together so they won;t try and kill one another there is enough hate and crime in this world dont enflict it on our animals and make them pay for it to dorothy

I agree that both canines and felines together on the calendar would capture the real cause. Kittens & puppies also - who doesn't love a baby/fur baby? And don't forget horses and other animals that are all too often rescued from irresponsible owners. "UNTIL ONE HAS LOVED AN ANIMAL, A PART OF ONES SOUL REMAINS UNAWAKENED"

I agree that a dog and a cat would make more sense esthetically and emotionally, not to mention not showing preference for one species or the other. As to spelling I prefer to be correct. It is not critical but it is important. Esthetically is as correct as Aesthetically.

they are all so great, it was hard to decide. surviving a gun shot wound is pretty wonderful and i'm so happy he's found a great home. i'd really like to calander. pam

I would also have liked to have seen them together as most homes have dogs and cats. I wanted to vote for Buddy and Rocky! The cover should represent both companion animal lovers "dog and cat people".

Each pet has a special story. Why not have a collage of the 12 monthly pets with their own individual stories.... and how they came to find a 4ever home. I have 2 adopted rescued shih tzus that are the loves of my life. My 3rd one was Sassy... deaf, blind and badly treated/beaten. I got Sassy when she was 11 yrs old and gave her 2 yrs of solid unconditional love. She could find her way around the apartment by following "pillows" set up along the floor/hall to guide her. Smart Precious little pooch... She lived with my mom and me for 2 yrs till her little body gave out... BUT I was able to give her LOVE that she had never had and I long for the day when all of my pets are there to greet me in heaven......

Yes I would have loved to see cats and dogs on the cover...getting along, playing together, cuddling,or just posing...it would be real cute plus it would help the decision making for the ones who love cats and dogs...I had a hard time making up my mind I actually wanted all of them on the cover lol.
