Hundreds of Caboodle Cats Go Home

Hundreds of cats rescued from an environment of terrible neglect are receiving loving care in new homes this week. The ASPCA helped multiple agencies in Florida adopt out the cats during three major adoption events on August 11 and 12.

The events, hosted by the Jacksonville Humane Society, Cat Depot and Humane Society of Pinellas (with assistance from Bay Area DART), drew more than 1,600 people to cities across Florida to adopt hundreds of cats rescued in late February from Caboodle Ranch.

This Saturday, August 18, the Halifax Humane Society is hosting another event to find homes for some of the remaining cats with special needs, including those who are FIV-positive or have feline leukemia. Please see the details below.

What: Halifax Humane Society Adoption Event
When: Saturday, August 18, 10:00 A.M.-4:00 P.M.
Where: Volusia County Fairgrounds (Hester Building) 3150 E. New York Avenue (State Road 44) DeLand, FL
How to Adopt:Potential adopters should bring with them one government-issued photo ID (i.e., driver’s license, passport, military ID or non-driver ID) and proof of address.

All I have to say is I am glad the cats are getting adopted and finding new homes. For those of you who don't understand why this happened and are unaware of the evidence found from this cat "haven" please visit caboodleranch.net. It shows some of the court evidence used in the trial for Craig... I warn you it is very disturbing.

It makes me sick people would support this man and say the ASPCA is in the wrong. All threw I don’t support PETA, because, they tended do things illegally. But, I support the ASPCA and HSUS, they do great work. I never ever had a problem with the ASPCA in requesting to investigate a rescue, or even issues with their online store. Only thing I can complain about, I wish they had faster shipping with their store products LOL! But, for them doing their job and getting these cats out that Caboodle Ranch of Hell. They did a great job! I read all the posts and everything! Being someone that works within a Humane Society/Animal Shelter. I will say Craig is a mentally ill man with social issues that causes him to be a hoarder. The man needs treatment and help in a residential treatment center. I've dealt with people like this in the past. They relapse if not treated, my Animal Control Department managed have one serial hoarder committed for 5 years in a residential treatment center. As for he could not help it if people dumped their un-fixed cats on his property. But, it was still his reasonability to get the cats fixed. There is no accuse for him not to had throes animals fixed. He sated he had a personal veterinarian, why didn’t his veterinarian fix the cats. I’m sure this veterinarian wasn’t a real vet and if he was he proudly practicing without a lics. Has anyone checked if this so call vet was a real vet or a vet that lost his lics? Vets that lost their lics to practice veterinarian medicine is illegal and is malpractice. I notice I can’t find this so called vet name anywhere, I’m sure he/she is not a vet or a vet that lost their vet lics and is a malpractice veterinarian! Furthermore I read on his website he's looking to Re-Locate and set up shop in another state. This because in the state of FL he banned from OWNING any animals ever again. Because he's a FL resident that is skipping out to state to avoid his BAN! The ASPCA needs make sure this BAN is affected in any state or country (Just in case he wants set up shop in Canada). Personally, If I ever gotten the oppertitinty to be hired as an ASPCA Investigator Officer to save animals like the Caboodle Cats and stop animal abusers like Craig I be very honored!
