We have to admit we were a bit surprised when we heard about Charlie Sheen’s generosity to a Wisconsin teen coping with severe injuries.

Last week, the Associated Press reported, the actor wired 15-year-old Teagan Marti $10,000 to help her family pay for a Golden Retriever puppy that will be specially trained to help her with her specific needs.

Marti sustained multiple injuries in 2010 in a 100-foot fall from an amusement park ride in Wisconsin. She spent months in hospitals undergoing physical therapy to regain some use of her arms and legs.

Of course, Marti chose to name her new pooch Charlie.

We’re wondering: Does this affect your opinion of Charlie Sheen?

Yes! I am very impressed.

I love reading stories like this. People like Charlie Sheen, who many have written off because of some bad decisions, come out of the wood works and help another in need. I'm sure that little "Charlie" will do his job in taking care of his new owner. I wish only the best for young Teagan. May she get well soon and be stronger than she was before.

I never had any ill thoughts of him in the first place!! Media blows everything out of porportion. We all have our problems and make mistakes. Instead of judge we need to be there for each other.

You can tell he is a nice guy, despite his weaknesses. I think this was a very nice gesture. I also think that it was very special that the little girl named the dog after him. A truly sweet thank you.

Charlie just had a bit of a breakdown, he's making a come back and showing he still has a heart, Good going Charlie!

Nothing ever changed my opinion about Charlie Sheen. I still believe he is a great actor. Everyone has to learn to not believe everything they hear.

I have always loved Charlie Sheen. No one can/could replace him especially on 2 1/2 men. They made a big mistake losing him. Ashton Kutcher, oh please, Dom Deluise would have been a better replacement. Private lives of celebrities should be exactly that, private. Many, many lies just to get a juicy article.

Yes it does effect. Maybe the soft part of Charlie Sheen is emerging out......

It doesn't surprise me at all that Charlie Sheen would do something like this. He has a big heart. We all make mistakes, his are just publicized and I'm sure some are blown out of proportion. I'm so happy for Teagan! Little Charlie will not only help her but become her best friend. Hugs, love and prayers go out to you and your family Teagan.

Guess he's not all bad.

Charlie Sheen is human and as humans we err. Yes, he has made some poor choices due to drug addiction and bipolar condition. I have read many accounts regarding his generosity. I have examined his astrological chart and despite certain demise -- he will always come out smelling like a rose. I like Charlie. God Bless Teagan!

People are complicated and even Charle Sheen has many sides. This was a nice thing to do.

Yes, I guess he does have a heart. Anyone that would do something like giving 10,000 $ to an unknown person couldn't be all that bad after all. God Bless him and the family with the injured child.

It's nice to see/hear those with big money can give to those in need. Thank you Charlie.

Perhaps everything that has been told about Charlie Sheen he is a generous man this is not the first time he helps someone this way, im not a fan of him but im glad he do these kind of things... Go Charlie!

ABSOLUTELY! i dont see beyonce or the stupid kardashians donating money...i see them prancing around in animal skins though....

I'm not surprised at all about Charlie's help. He may be a wild child in the eyes of hollywood, but underneath I believe he's a kind hearted person.

I love Charlie's movies and TV shows even though I live my life differently than his and the presence of his kindness and generosity for others has always been present. He has always done kind things like this, not for reputation, but because he has a big heart... at least that's how I see it.

i've always loved Charlie Sheen, sure he has his faults, but don't we all!

Yes, I am impressed. People sometimes make bad decisions but it doesn't mean they don't have a good heart.

Well no one ever said he wasn't generous. Even his co-stars on Two and a Half men always commented on how kind he is! Takes a special person to do this for someone! God love you Charlie perhaps you have taken a new path to self medication by acts of kindness!

Everyone makes mistakes, some are more publicized than others. Thank you Charlie for doing something nice for someone in need.

everyone has a past, and even when we try to get everything together we will still make mistakes from time to time, its so nice to see something good about charlie, and what he did for this girl is amazing and going to change her life!! thank you for your kindness charlie!!

Well done Charlie - you have a heart. Thank you Charlie

Actually, it does..

I've always liked Charlie Sheen. He just had a bad spell & a bit of a major breakdown. I truly believe he has always had a good heart & soul. I think he's gotten himself back on track, admitted he isnt oerfect, and shown us all that he's just human & has his faults just like the rest of us!! Gooo Charlie!!

I think it is very generous of Charlie Sheen to pay for a service dog to be trained to help the teenager. I know training service dogs is expensive. None of us are exempt from faults we've made in our past. That's what forgiveness is for. Thank you Charlie, you've made a teenager in need very happy.

Always loved Charlie. Even more now!

no, not really, just because he parties like the insane, doesn't mean he's without a heart!

So glad to hear about an unselfish deed...........charlie always had a good heart u could see it in his eyes.......everyone gets caught up in lifes turmoils..sometimes we get get fed up and rebel does not make us a bad person.........happy for him to get himself back on track..........congrads to u charles.........................

What a "crazy, unstable" human being

We can hope insanity is catching.

I think it's wonderful that Charlie Sheen helped out this poor girl. I do have 1 question - why does it cost so much for a service dog? Maybe we should be asking how the cost can be made more managable for the average person!!

That was so perspective of you--how can we help people, with limited means, get one of these wonderful animals? The best I can think of now is collecting a special fund. Perhaps we can set up raffles?

Its good to see that some of the stars that get paid more money than most of us will ever see help someone else.

Yes this news of Charlie Sheen helping that teenager does alter mt opinion of him. Now he's truly #winning my approval.

i have always like charlie. i remember him in ferris buellers day off playing the sexy bad boy, platoon and two and half men. way to go charlie. that girl will remember your gift for the rest of her life.

"You never stand so tall as when you stoop to help a child or an animal"

Yes, it does change my opinion. He has gotten some really bad press, and I have been to quick to believe the hype and pass judgement. I apologize to Charlie, and I commend him for his generosity. Hope he continues to do good things and gain satisfaction from doing so. God bless you Charlie.

Just when I thought Charlie Sheen was a talented but flakey actor--he does something like this. Sorry Charlie--you may be flakey but you got a heart.
